Q. Can I Restore an Expired Domain Name?

A. If your domain name was deleted from the registry before it expired, you will have the ability to restore the domain during the automatic grace period. Also, if no one else has ordered the domain you will be able to restore the domain name even after the grace period. If the domain does not meet these criteria, unfortunately it will not be able to be restored.

Restoration is expensive, and it takes some time because the process is 100% manual. Here’s how this works. For 30 days after a domain name is deleted, the current registrar of the domain name is the only one who can restore the name. If after 30 days the domain has not been restored, it will be in a hold period for 5 days. At the end of that period, the domain will become openly available for registration.

If you have an expired domain that is within the 30 day redemption period, you need to login to your domain control panel at xxx. There, you will search for the domain that you will be renewing. When you have located the domain, you will need to click on the button marked restore. An invoice will be immediately generated, and once you pay the invoice we will start the manual restoration process. Be aware that it will take us up to 5 business days to complete the process.
